Importing Inventory
Veepan supports bulk Item Imports in the inventory.
Steps to Import Products in bulk.
The products can be imported to the Inventory via Excel Sheet.
Prepare the Excel Sheet
Prepare the Excel Sheet to list all the products to add to inventory.
Explanation of columns in the above excel sheet format :
Item Name - Enter the name of the product. E.g. I Phone 12
Item Num - Enter the product code / product no. E.g. ITM102
HSN - Enter the HSN code.
MRP - Enter the MRP of the product.
Discount (%) - Enter the discount percent, this is used to calculate the purchase cost. E.g. If MRP entered is 100, and Discount(%) is 10%, the excel sheet will automatically calculate the Purchase Cost column.
Purchase Cost - If the user does not wish to use the Discount(%) column, one can enter the Purchase Cost directly here. It is important as it will be used to calculate the inventory value.
Initial Quantity - Enter the initial quantity of the product in the inventory. E.g. if the initial quantity is 10, then the inventory will contain 10 quantities of the product after the upload.
Reorder Quantity - If the quantity of product in the inventory goes below the Reorder Quantity level, the system will notify that this product is low in inventory.
GST - Enter the GST of the product.
Inclusive of Tax - Mention if the MRP and Purchase Cost is inclusive of tax or not.
Unit of Measure - Enter the Unit for the product here.
Save the Excel and the sheet is ready to be uploaded.
Uploading to the Inventory
Follow the below steps to upload the excel to Inventory.
Go to Menu -> Inventory -> Stock Import -> Click on Import Stock button
Enter the details
Import Reference - Enter any text, so that the user remembers about the import.
Select Excel Template - Select Item Excel. If the business entity deals in clothing, select Clothing Excel.
File Input - Upload your excel here.
Click on Submit button.
Add to Inventory
After the above upload, the system will take to the Stock Import page, listing all your products.
Click Add to Inventory button at top right.
The products will be added to inventory. If there is any error product, it will be shown here.
In these simple steps, all your inventory products will be added in one click.
Important: Do not add more than 1000 products to the Excel Sheet.
If the user has more than 1000 products, it's recommended to split the data into junks of 1000.
